Flowers

Here is a backyard Iris that I liked quite alot. I knew just what time of the day the sun would light up the background.

The center of this orchid just looks like a samurai warrior ready for battle.

I am always a sucker for water droplets on flowers. It is a reminder of the fleeting nature of their beauty.

The great thing about growing your subjects is that you can see immediately when the light is right. This Singapore Orchid Tree blooms for a month and there are many opportunities  for interesting pictures.  I especially like the morning light — it brings out the warmth and creates some great shadows.

Miltonia orchids are one of my favorite flowers. They seem to have a personality. This one has a happy look to it.

This is a plant in my backyard. One Sunday morning I was stepping out of my house when I saw the light hitting the blossom and I immediately got my Nikon and took three pictures of it.This was the best of the bunch.
